Imagine a world where your favorite tea from West Bengal, India, can be enjoyed by people in countries like Canada and Japan. Or a place where traditional Indian beauty products become popular in the United States and Australia. Thanks to Amazon Global Selling, these dreams are coming true for many Indian businesses. Through its new campaign, ‘India Se Duniya Tak’ (India to the World), Amazon is showcasing how Indian entrepreneurs are reaching a global audience.
Amazon Global Selling was launched in India in 2015. It helps Indian businesses of all sizes export their products to different countries using Amazon’s international marketplaces. This program makes it easier for entrepreneurs to start or grow their export operations. By lowering the barriers to international trade, Amazon Global Selling allows Indian products to reach customers all over the world.
The ‘India Se Duniya Tak’ campaign is a series of four videos that tell the stories of Indian businesses that have succeeded internationally through Amazon Global Selling. These stories are not just about products; they are about dreams, hard work, and the rich culture and craftsmanship of India.
The first video features Aaqib Bhat, the owner of Pashwrap, a brand from Srinagar that makes Pashmina products. Pashmina is a type of wool known for its luxury and intricate craftsmanship. Aaqib’s family has been in the business for generations, and through Amazon Global Selling, they have been able to reach customers all over the world.
The campaign highlights how Indian businesses, even those with a long history like Pashwrap, can benefit from reaching a global audience. By showcasing these stories, Amazon hopes to inspire other Indian entrepreneurs to take the leap into international markets. The success of these businesses also helps create jobs and support local communities in India.
According to Bhupen Wakankar, director of global trade at Amazon India, the goal of the ‘India Se Duniya Tak’ campaign is to highlight the diverse success stories of Indian exporters. Amazon Global Selling aims to make e-commerce exports easier and more accessible for Indian businesses. They are investing in technology to simplify the export process and hope to facilitate $20 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports from India by 2025.
Each video in the campaign showcases a different exporter from various parts of India, such as Srinagar, Indore, Ahmedabad, and Darjeeling. These stories represent the rich tapestry of Indian tradition and craftsmanship. Some businesses started exporting with Amazon and became globally recognized brands, while others were already exporting and saw significant growth through Amazon Global Selling.
For example, Pashwrap from Srinagar is known for its handcrafted luxury goods with traditional Kashmiri embroidery. The business provides sustainable employment to skilled artisans in neighboring villages. Aaqib Bhat, the founder of Pashwrap, expressed how transformative Amazon Global Selling has been for their business, allowing them to reach a wider market and showcase their artistry to global consumers.
The ‘India Se Duniya Tak’ campaign is a collaborative effort between Amazon and FCB Kinnect, a creative agency. The campaign aims to bring a human touch to e-commerce by focusing on the personal stories and unique spirit of each business featured. According to Chandni Shah, COO of FCB Kinnect, the campaign captures the passion and dreams of Indian SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises), showing how Amazon Global Selling empowers them to reach international markets.
Amazon Global Selling’s ‘India Se Duniya Tak’ campaign is more than just a marketing effort. It is a celebration of Indian entrepreneurship, tradition, and craftsmanship. By sharing these inspiring stories, Amazon hopes to encourage more Indian businesses to explore global markets and achieve international success. This campaign not only helps businesses grow but also supports local communities and preserves India’s rich cultural heritage.
So, the next time you enjoy a cup of tea or a beauty product from India, remember that it might have traveled a long way to reach you, thanks to programs like Amazon Global Selling and the dreams of hardworking Indian entrepreneurs.
