JioCinema has made references to a new subscription plan on its portal, where it has been providing free IPL streaming with advertisements. A lot of people are speculating that the next subscription plan will allow consumers to stream matches and other material without having to view platform advertisements.
According to sources, viewers’ curiosity was piqued by an advertising that aired on X during the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Delhi Capitals IPL game on April 20.
Although things change constantly, your plan doesn’t have to. “A new plan coming April 25th,” the advertisement stated.
In the advertisement, a couple is shown watching TV while some kind of sports commentary plays in the background. When asked, “To aaj kya plan hai?” the couple responds, “Aaj dekhenge series of ads.”
The subscription plans for JioCinema are Rs. 99 per month or Rs. 999 per year. The website does not, however, have no advertisements. Prior to this, a lot of users have criticized the platform for charging for a subscription yet still displaying adverts.
Many referred to the platform’s free IPL streaming last year as a client acquisition strategy and said paywalls will be implemented in the near future.
JioCinema hasn’t disclosed many details regarding the plan, but the commercial seems to imply that they intend to launch a different package that will do away with advertisements.
